# Channel settings

> Order your channels, and set each channel's time zone, posting goal and posting slots.

Only the account owner and workspace admins can manage channels. See [Members and permissions](/knowledge-base/settings/members-and-permissions).

## The channel list

**Settings → Channels** lists every channel connected to the workspace.

* **Drag to reorder**, or use **Move up** / **Move down** in a channel's menu, or drag channels in the sidebar. This order is the one used in the sidebar and in the composer.
* Each channel's menu also has **View profile** (opens it on the network), **Refresh connection** and **Disconnect**.
* A channel that lost its connection shows **Connection lost** and a **Reconnect** button. See [Reconnect a channel](/knowledge-base/channels/connecting#reconnect-a-channel).
* The gear icon opens **Channel settings** for that channel.

## Time zone

**Time zone** is the zone of this channel's posting schedule: posting slots and [recurring posts](/knowledge-base/publish/recurring-posts) follow its clock. A new channel starts with your own time zone from [Preferences](/knowledge-base/settings/preferences).

Changing it asks first: **Change the channel time zone and reschedule posts?**

* Queued posts are rescheduled to the posting slots of the new time zone. Each one keeps the same local clock time when that slot exists in the new zone; otherwise it takes the first free slot. A queued post with no slot left keeps its time as a custom-time post.
* Posts with a custom time keep the same moment.

## Posting goal

**Posting goal** is how often you aim to post on this channel each week, from 1 to 28 posts. The channel's **Publish** page tracks it as posts sent this week, which follows your start of week from [Preferences](/knowledge-base/settings/preferences).

When you connect a channel, TryPost asks for this goal first (**Keep it steady** 1/week, **Build a presence** 3/week, **Reach new heights** 5/week, or **Choose your goal**) and suggests recommended posting times to match it.

## Posting slots

**Posting slots** are the times that tell TryPost when to send posts from your [queue](/knowledge-base/publish/queue). A post you add with **Next available** takes the first free slot.

* Turn each day **On** or **Off**.
* **Add posting slot** for **Every day**, **Weekdays**, **Weekends** or a single day, at the time you pick. Each day takes up to 4 times.
* Remove a time, or change its hour or minute, from the slot itself.
* **Clear all** removes every posting time from the channel, after a confirmation.
* **Generate new posting slots** replaces your current times with:
  * **Meet my posting goal** — enough slots to reach the goal (disabled when you already have more slots than the goal);
  * **Update slots to match TryPost's recommendations** — recommended times;
  * **Copy from channel** — the schedule of another channel.

Every change saves on its own. Times are shown in your time format (12-hour or 24-hour) and the week starts on your start of week, both from [Preferences](/knowledge-base/settings/preferences).

Changing slots only moves queued posts whose slot no longer exists; they take the first free slots in order. A channel without posting times cannot use the queue.
