# Feeds

> Follow RSS, Atom and JSON feeds and turn articles into posts or ideas.

**Create › Feeds** is a reader for the blogs and news sites you follow. Read the latest articles, then turn one into a post or save it as an idea.

Feeds belong to the workspace. Every member can add, organize and read them.

## Add a feed

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the form">
    Click **New feed** → **Add feed**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Paste the URL">
    Enter the **RSS URL**. RSS, Atom and JSON feeds work. You can also paste the address of a page that links to its feed, and TryPost finds the feed for you.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save">
    Click **Add feed**. Its articles appear after the first refresh.
  </Step>
</Steps>

A feed is refused when:

* the URL is not a feed and the page does not link to one;
* the feed is already in the workspace;
* it points to a private or local address ("This URL points to a private or unsupported address.");
* the workspace already has 50 feeds ("You've reached the limit of 50 feeds in this workspace.").

### Explore feeds

**Explore feeds** opens a directory of curated feeds by category: **Favorites**, **Tech**, **News**, **Business**, **Art & Media**, **Entertainment** and **Science**. Add a feed from the list, or remove one you already follow.

## Collections

Group feeds into collections to read them together.

* **New collection** creates one.
* **Add to collection** (from the collection's menu) or **Move to** (from a feed) places a feed in it.
* **Rename** or **Delete** a collection. Deleting a collection keeps its feeds; they move back to **Feeds**.

**All feeds** shows the articles of every feed in the workspace.

## Refreshing

* TryPost checks every feed for new articles every 8 hours.
* **Refresh feeds** checks them now. A feed already checked in the last 5 minutes is skipped.
* Each feed keeps its latest 100 articles.
* A feed that cannot be read shows "We couldn't refresh this feed." with the reason.

<Note>
  Self-hosting TryPost? These numbers are defaults you can change with the `RSS_FEEDS_*` variables. See [Configuration](/self-hosting/configuration).
</Note>

## Turn an article into content

On an article:

* **Create post** opens the [composer](/knowledge-base/publish/composer) with the article's title and link, plus its image when the site has one.
* **Save as idea** adds the article to [Ideas](/knowledge-base/create/ideas). The button changes to **Saved**.

## Rename and delete a feed

From a feed's menu, **Rename** changes the name shown in TryPost. **Delete** removes the feed and its articles from the workspace. Ideas saved from it are kept.

<Note>
  Feeds are web only. There is no API endpoint or MCP tool for them.
