# Recurring posts

> Publish the same post again on a repeating schedule.

A recurring post publishes again on a fixed rhythm: every day, every two weeks, on the same day each month, and so on.

## Make a post recurring

<Steps>
  <Step title="Schedule the post">
    Only scheduled posts can repeat. Schedule it at the date and time of the first occurrence.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Open the post menu">
    On the post card in [Publish](/knowledge-base/publish/overview), choose **Make Recurring**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set the rhythm">
    **Repeat every** 1 to 365 **Day(s)**, **Week(s)**, **Month(s)** or **Year(s)**, **for** 1 to 100 times.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save">
    Click **Save**. The card shows a **Recurring** marker.
  </Step>
</Steps>

"We'll schedule future occurrences based on this post's date and time." The post then shows a banner such as "This post will be shared every Monday at 9:00 AM, until … (3 posts left)."

The number of times is how many occurrences come after this post. The last occurrence must be before 2038.

Only members who publish directly see **Make Recurring**. See [Members and permissions](/knowledge-base/settings/members-and-permissions).

## How occurrences are created

* When a post of the series publishes, or fails, TryPost creates the next occurrence as a new scheduled post on the same channel.
* Each occurrence is counted from the start of the series in the channel's time zone, so the local time stays the same across daylight saving changes, and a series on the 31st or on 29 February does not drift.
* If an occurrence's time has already passed, TryPost skips to the next one still in the future.
* An approved series keeps publishing without asking for approval again.

## Change or stop

From the post menu:

* **Edit Recurrence** changes the rhythm or the number of times.
* **Stop Recurring** keeps this post and ends the series after it.

Only the next occurrence exists at any time. Once created, it is a normal post: edit, move or delete it like any other.
