An API key gives a script, integration or CI job access to one workspace through the REST API. Find them in Settings → API Keys. Only the account owner and workspace admins can create and use API keys. A key acts as the person who created it, in the workspace it was created in: if that person stops being an admin of the workspace, or is removed from it, the key stops working. Each person sees only the keys they created for the current workspace.
API keys do not work with the MCP server. AI assistants connect through Settings → MCP, which signs in through the browser. See MCP.

Generate a key

1

Generate API Key

In Settings → API Keys, click Generate API Key.
2

Name and expiration

Enter a Name (for example “Production API Key”) and, optionally, an Expiration date. Without one, the key never expires.
3

Copy the key

The API Key Generated dialog shows the key once. Copy it and store it somewhere safe: you won’t be able to see it again.
Treat a key like a password: don’t share it publicly, add it to Git, or include it in client-side code.

Use a key

Send it as a Bearer token in the Authorization header:
On TryPost Cloud, requests need an active subscription on the account. See the API reference for endpoints, errors and rate limits. The API does not include TryPost’s AI features; those are only in the web app.

The key list

Each key shows when it expires (Never expires, Expires date or Expired date), when it was last used, and when it was created. A dot marks its status: active, expiring within 7 days, or expired. An expired key returns 401 until you regenerate or delete it.

Regenerate a key

Regenerate creates a new key with the same name. It keeps the expiration date if that date is still in the future; an expired key comes back with no expiration. The current key stops working immediately, so update every application that uses it. Type REGENERATE to confirm.

Delete a key

Delete revokes the key; any application using it loses access immediately. Type DELETE to confirm. In another interface language, both keywords are translated and stay in capital letters; type the word the dialog shows.
