Supported networks
Each network’s guide covers its requirements, post types and media rules.
Connect a channel
1
Open Connect a new channel
Click New → Connect a new channel in the sidebar. You can also click Connect channel in Settings → Channels.
2
Pick the network
Choose the network, then Connect with the network’s name (for example Connect LinkedIn). The same panel lists what the network supports and links to its guide.
3
Sign in on the network
TryPost sends you to the network’s own sign-in page in the same tab. Sign in and accept every permission, especially the permission to publish.
4
Choose the accounts
You come back to a confirmation page: Connect your account when the login offers one account, or Select accounts when it offers several (for example your LinkedIn profile and the Pages you manage). Pick one or more, or use Select all, then click Finish connection.
Accounts that are already connected
If the login offers an account that is already a channel in this workspace, the confirmation page still lists it, but locked: it shows Connected instead of a checkbox, is never pre-selected and is skipped by Select all. Finish connection stays disabled until you pick a new account. When every account on the login is already connected, the page says All your LinkedIn accounts are already connected. (with the network’s name)Switch account
Signed in to the wrong profile? Click Switch account at the top of the confirmation page. The Connect a different account step tells you to switch accounts on the network’s website, then Connect to network restarts the sign-in. Where the network supports it (Google Business, Facebook, Instagram through Facebook, Mastodon), TryPost asks the network to show its account chooser again. When the connection stops
The confirmation page explains what happened and offers Try again:Networks with their own steps
- Bluesky — enter your Handle or email and an App Password (create one at bsky.app/settings/app-passwords), not your main password.
- Mastodon — enter your Instance URL (for example
mastodon.social), then sign in on that instance. - Telegram — a dialog asks you to add the TryPost bot as an administrator of your channel or group, then post the command it shows there. The command expires after 15 minutes; Generate new command gives you a fresh one.
- Instagram — choose Connect to Instagram for a Professional (Business or Creator) account, or Connect Instagram through Facebook if your Instagram account is linked to a Facebook Page. The second path requires a Business or Creator account linked to a Page, logged in as a Page admin with full control, and every permission selected.
Multiple accounts per network
A workspace can connect as many accounts as you want on the same network: two LinkedIns, three Instagrams, and so on. Connecting an account that is already a channel never creates a second channel. It refreshes the existing one. The same identity also cannot sit twice under two connection types of one network, such as an Instagram account connected directly and through Facebook. The same social account can be connected in several workspaces; each workspace manages its own channel.Reconnect a channel
TryPost checks every channel’s connection once a day. When a network stops accepting the connection (password changed, access revoked, token expired), the channel shows Connection lost with Reconnect this channel to keep publishing. The account owner gets an email; see Notifications. To fix it, click Reconnect on the channel in Settings → Channels. Use Refresh connection from the channel’s menu to renew a connection that still works but misbehaves. Both run the same sign-in, and the confirmation page shows only that channel, already selected. Sign in as the same account: authorizing a different one is rejected with That is a different account. Authorize the one you are reconnecting. Reconnecting keeps the channel’s posts, queue and settings.Self-hosting TryPost? Every network except Bluesky and Mastodon needs your own developer app credentials — see Social platforms.
Via the API and MCP
Connecting happens in the browser only. Once a channel is connected, the API and MCP can list it:GET /social-accounts or list-social-accounts-tool.
